Patient fees vary greatly with your age, your entitlement to subsidies and the services we provide. We are happy to provide further information on request.
Subsidised fees apply to New Zealand citizens and those with permanent residency. Please enquire about our fees if you do not have permanent residency status.
A consultation may be in person or via the phone. Phone consultations are the same fee as a face-to-face appointment.
An additional fee may be charged for complex or longer consultations. Generally, in a 15-minute consultation, we can deal with 1 -2 issues. If you have more issues, please book a double consultation.
A full consultation fee will be charged for a non-attendance. We require at least 3 hours’ notice of cancellation prior to the scheduled appointment. Anything less does not allow a reasonable time to rebook the appointment.
There is an additional fee for writing referral letters.
Follow up appointments are not usually discounted.
Please try and see the same doctor whenever possible for follow up care of the same problem. This will result in better care for you.
We ask for payment at the time of the consultation. If you have requested a script or had a phone consultation, you will receive a text with the amount owing after we have completed the request or consultation. Script fee $25.00 or $35.00 if required the same day.

Riccarton Medical Terms of Trade

For many of our patients who pay on the day these changes will have no impact but because they are a change to our existing terms, we felt it important to communicate them with our entire enrolled population.
Our fees take into account the following Factors:
- The time involved
- The complexity of treatment
- The funding available from the government, public agencies and other sources.
Terms of Trade
- Payment in full is due on the day of your consultation.
- You are welcome to pay on the day of consultation via internet banking to
12-3147-0303763-00 stating your surname in the particulars field and your chart number (if known) in the reference field, or use your street name if the chart number is unknown.
- An automatic payment arrangement is a good way of managing the costs of your healthcare. If this is to pay off a previous debt then we continue to ask for payment on the day until the debt is cleared. Please let us know if you wish to cancel it.
- Accounts that are not settled on the day and remain unpaid at the end of the month will incur a $5.00 account management fee. This will be waived if paid within 7 days.
- If there is a failure to pay fees, and after we have taken steps with you to manage your debt without success, we may involve a debt collection agency. Any fees incurred in debt recovery will be passed on to the account holder.

- If you do not attend for a booked appointment, and you have not contacted us to cancel the appointment, we reserve the right to charge a full consultation as a non-attendance fee, a charge may also apply to under 14-year-olds.
- We reserve the right to refuse non-emergency service and limit patients’ capacity to engage with our online services due to fees being unpaid without prior arrangement.
- All casual fees are payable PRIOR to the consultation or service being provided.
- All vaccines which are not part of the New Zealand Immunisation Schedule e.g. travel
vaccines, are to be paid for BEFORE they are given.
You authorise us to:
- Make enquiries with Credit agencies regarding your credit history and release information where necessary for the purpose of making such an enquiry.
- Disclose information about you for the purpose of instructing other persons including a debt collection agency to recover outstanding fees from you.
You acknowledge that:
- All services may attract a fee.
- You remain liable for all fees, costs and disbursements (e.g. Laboratory testing fees) charged by us for the services provided, not with standing that these may be recoverable by us from a third party (e.g. insurance providers)
